• Interact w/Homegrown: Holiday tipping: who to & how much?

 

• According to TODAY:
  • Here’s a breakdown of who exactly we’re tipping for the holidays: 
    • Childcare provider: 41% plan to give a $50 tip.
    • Housekeeper: 47% plan to give a $50 tip.
    • Landscaper: 36% plan to give a $30 tip.
    • Mail carrier: 27% plan to give a $20 tip.
    • Teacher: 41% plan to give a $25 tip.
    • Trash/recycling collector: 19% plan to give a $20. 

    Here’s a breakdown of who we’re tipping extra for the holidays and how many of us are doing so:

    • Bartender: 10% say they’ll tip them more.
    • Coffee shop barista: 9% say they’ll tip them more.
    • Food delivery person: 16% say they’ll tip them more.  
    • Hairstylist/barber: 19% say they’ll tip them more. 
    • Restaurant waitstaff: 27% say they’ll tip them more.

• Nikki is expecting a HUGE “Thank You” from Brent for helping him practically pick out and buy all of his Christmas presents this year!

• Get ready, because Brentmas is coming! Tomorrow morning Brent will be flying solo starting at 6am, playing all of his favorite Christmas music all morning long – a 20+ year standing tradition.
  

  PLUS – Brent will be announcing the winner of the KKRV’s Tour of Lights & giving away the Grand Prize in our 13 Days of Small Business Christmas

   

• Brent is disappointed at the new Billy Idol Christmas album. It is too Christmas-y and not enough Idol-y. It reminds Nikki of the character Billy Mack in Love Actually – a former rock star trying to find fame by redoing a Christmas song trying to go #1 during the holidays.

 

• Brent likes to pretend that he’s not a thoughtful guy, but those who know him, know differently. Although Nikki helped him with all of his Christmas present shopping, he was able to pick one out for her – all on his own. Last week, when talking about go-to board games, Brent taught Nikki how to play Cribbage, and therefore, bought her a Cribbage Board of her very own. He felt pretty smug thinking she didn’t get him anything. Little did he know, there was a nice bottle of locally-distilled Whiskey on his desk. Oh these two!
