Homegrown Recap: 3.14 – Happy Pi Day!
  • Interact w/Homegrown: What is your family’s go-to on game night?
    • Brent was introduced to a new game (well a new version of an old game) called Uno Flip. He highly recommends it!

  • How are you holding up after the Daylight Saving switch? Brent is actually doing pretty good, while Nikki is the one suffering today. Between her son pushing through FOUR baby teeth and not quite adjusting to the time change (as 9 month old babies tend to not do), it was a rough weekend in the Darling household.

  • Today is National Pi Day…as in 3.14, because it’s March 14th.  But a recent poll found a third of Americans don’t know what “pi” is.  Some just have a vague notion it has something to do with math.  19% said they had no idea what pi is . . . 3% thought it was the hypotenuse of a triangle . . . 2% said angles in a parallelogram . . . 1% said the volume of water . . . and 7% thought it was the “mass of a pie,” spelled P-I-E.  (???)

Two-thirds knew the correct answer:  It’s the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter.  It’s used it all areas of math and physics to calculate stuff.

As always, a bunch of places have deals on PIZZA and ACTUAL pies today.

  • Jump Start Trivia: Homegrown asks a mind-boggling quiz question every Monday morning for your chance at a dozen donuts from Sure To Rise Bakery!
    • Q: What was St. Patrick attacked by when he traveled from Britain to Ireland on his mission trip?
    • A: Snakes

  • Carolyn from the NCW Fair at the Douglas Country Fairgrounds was in the studio this morning to talk about Fair After Dark: Adult Comedy Show. Brad will have your chance to win tickets all this week. ALSO: she announced the CO-HEADLINERS for this year’s NCW Fair in August will be Maddie & Tae and Matt Stell!

  • Country Music Calendar Spotlight: Happy Birthday to Sugarland’s Kristian Bush!

  • In honor of his Ukrainian-born grandfather, Joe Gluzinski was at Pybus Public Market this past Saturday with his Blue Skies food truck serving a special dish to raise money for relief efforts in the war-torn country.

Homegrown w/Brent + Nikki can be heard weekdays from 5:30-10am on Country 104.7fm, online at KKRV.com or on the Audacy app.
