Today Is National Drink Wine Day
Today is National Drink Wine Day . . . and you can celebrate by, well, drinking wine. After all, it’s Drink Wine Day, not just Wine Day.
A recent survey asked people which type of wine was their favorite, and Merlot received 18% of the vote. Zinfandel is second with 16%.
Another 16% of people said they don’t know anything about the types of wine . . . beyond there being “red” and “white.”
Chardonnay was the third most popular type, followed by Riesling . . . Pinot Noir . . . Pinot Gris . . . Cabernet Sauvignon . . . Malbec . . . Syrah . . . and Sauvignon Blanc.
35% of people say they’re content with just one glass per sitting . . . 39% said two glasses is their magic number . . . 13% usually stop after a third . . . and another 3% will take a fourth glass.
9% of people claim they usually drink five glasses or an entire bottle in one sitting. (Which I could only imagine in very rare celebratory occasions . . . or, maybe if you’re hosting the fourth hour of the “Today” show.)
