The Best Way to Live a Long, Healthy Life After a Heart Attack Is . . . Lots of Sex
You might think if you’ve had a heart attack, you need to be careful doing things that could put a lot of stress on you . . . including having sex.
Well . . . according to a new study out of University College London, believe it or not, the opposite is true.
The researchers found that if you want to live a long, healthy life after a heart attack . . . you should have as much sex as possible.
They studied more than 1,100 men and women, all of whom survived their first heart attack between 1992 and 1993, when they were 65 or younger.
Now, almost three decades later, the people who’ve had sex multiple times a week since their heart attack were 27% less likely to have died. And people who’ve had sex once a week were 12% less likely.
So why is sex good for recovery? The researchers aren’t sure there are any physical reasons . . . they think it’s because lots of sex is a sign of a healthy, loving relationship, and that’s a big key to staying alive for a long time.
