The Average American Spends 84 Hours a Year Working Sick

Here’s why other people at work got you sick multiple times this winter . . .

A new poll found the average American spends 84 hours a year working sick.  That’s 10-and-a-half workdays, or just over two weeks’ worth.

And the top reason we do it is . . . we’d rather “power through” and not have people think we’re just being dramatic.

47% said they’d rather work through an illness than take a sick day.  And 34% worry people might think they’re being lazy, or a wuss.

We’re far more likely to skip out on friends when we’re sick.  The average person misses 17 social events a year because they’re not feeling well.
