AT&T Is Reimbursing Customers for Last Week’s Outage . . . $5.00

Tens of thousands of AT&T customers were affected by a massive outage last week, when a botched network update kept people from being able to use their cell phones for up to 12 hours.

Customers were demanding to be reimbursed, and AT&T actually WILL credit their accounts.  Each person will get $5.00 applied automatically.

That may not seem like much . . . but AT&T says $5.00 is “the average cost of a full day of service.”  Plus, they probably didn’t have to give anything.  (It’s hard to get ANYTHING out of companies for service disruptions these days.)

AT&T said, “We recognize the frustration this outage has caused and know we let many of our customers down.”

They also said they’re taking steps “to prevent [errors like] this from happening again in the future,” but they didn’t elaborate.
