Every year, EA Sports runs a simulated Super Bowl on the latest edition of “Madden”.  It’s been right 10 of the last 16 years.

And in 2015, the game not only correctly predicted a Patriots win over the Seahawks, but it also nailed the final score, 28-24.

But the last two years it was WRONG.  In 2018, the simulation had the Patriots defeating the Eagles 24-20 . . . but the Eagles won 41-33.  And last year, it had the Rams winning 30-27, but the Pats won a snooze-fest 13-3.

This year, “Madden” predicts the Chiefs will edge the 49ers 35-31 . . . with quarterback Patrick Mahomes being named the MVP.  In the simulation, the 49ers went up 7-0 in the first quarter, and were still ahead 17-14 at the half.

The lead went back and forth, and in the final minute, the 49ers were up 31-28 . . . but Mahomes threw an 18-yard touchdown in the last few seconds to seal the win.

Interestingly, the simulation picked the same final score for Super Bowl 44.  They had the Saints beating the Colts 35-31.  The Saints did win, but the final was 31-17.
