“South Park” vs. “Family Guy”, and Other Comedy Feuds

Comedy is supposed to make us laugh, but sometimes it can STING, too.  Like it did in these COMEDY FEUDS:

1.  “South Park” vs. “Family Guy”“South Park” did an entire episode about how the jokes on “Family Guy” were just randomly strung-together pop culture references that could be constructed by a group of manatees in a tank.

Seth MacFarlane shot back that he didn’t think his staff had enough spare time to do an entire episode about “South Park”.

2.  Jay Leno vs. Conan O’Brien:  Their fight over “The Tonight Show” ended with Conan leaving after only seven months as host.

He later said, quote, “I just want to say to the kids out there watching: You can do anything you want in life.  Unless Jay Leno wants to do it, too.”

3.  David Cross vs. Larry the Cable Guy:  Cross blasted Larry for delivering the lowest form of comedy.  Larry countered that David takes himself too seriously and overanalyzes comedy.

Then David DESTROYED Larry in an essay titled, An Open Letter to Larry the Cable Guy.

4.  Will Ferrell and Adam McKay:  Ferrell and writer-director McKay struck comedy gold so many times:  “Step Brothers”, “Elf”, “Talladega Nights”, “Anchorman”, FunnyOrDie.com.

But they fell out when McKay did the series “Showtime”, and give the part of Lakers owner Jerry Buss to John C. Reilly instead of Will.

5.  Andy Dick and Jon Lovitz:  Jon blamed Andy for the death of their friend Phil Hartman.  Hartman was shot by his wife Brynn . . . but Andy supposedly got Brynn re-hooked on drugs after she’d cleaned herself up.

One night at a comedy club they got into it, and Jon reportedly slammed Andy’s head into the bar five or six times.

6.  Eddie Murphy vs. Bill Cosby:  When Eddie was coming up, Bill actually called him to complain about his foul language.  Eddie even did a whole bit about it in his concert movie “Raw”.

But Eddie had the last laugh when he accepted his Mark Twain Prize for American Humor in 2015.  He said, quote, “Did y’all make Bill give his back?
