This Woman’s Voice Is in Over One Billion GPS Devices

Karen Jacobsen is known as the “only woman men will take directions from.”  She’s an Australian voice actor who recorded the first-ever GPS voice system.  This was back in 2002 when she was a singer doing auditions in New York City.

She’s now heard in over one billion GPS and smartphone devices.  She talked about her career in a recent interview.  She remembers them making her say “approximately” 168 times.  She also does the famous “recalculating” voice.
