Last week, 15-year-old tennis prodigy CORI “COCO” GAUFF became the youngest tennis player to qualify for Wimbledon.  And yesterday, she WON her first round match.

And she didn’t just take out some random player.  She beat five-time Wimbledon champion VENUS WILLIAMS in straight sets 6-4, 6-4.

Cori is from Florida, and she’s ranked #313 in the world among women’s tennis players.  Venus is ranked #44.

Venus is 39, and she reached four of her nine Wimbledon finals before Coco was born.  And Coco is a HUGE fan of the Williams sisters.  She’s even said that SERENA WILLIAMS is the reason why she plays tennis.

(Here’s a clip of the finish.  And here’s an ESPN report on the match.  Skip to the 1:50 mark for Coco’s comments.  Venus talks at 4:15.  She clearly isn’t ready to retire and pass the torch to Coco.)
