More “Good News” Stories from the Coronavirus Outbreak

Here are a few more good news stories from the outbreak . . .

1.  Here’s an essential worker with a great story.  LaShenda Williams works at a Kroger store in Nashville.  But last year, she was homeless.  An assistant manager saw her sleeping in her car in the parking lot, and gave her a job.  And LaShenda did a pretty emotional interview about it the other day.

2.  A guy in Virginia named Louie Correa started a group called the “Birthday Brigade” that travels around and throws socially-distanced parties for kids.  They’ve now thrown over 200 of them in the last five months.  (He did an interview with the “Today” show this week.)

3.  The first museum dedicated to happiness recently opened in Denmark.  It’s called The Happiness Museum, and it’s run by a group called the Happiness Research Institute.  The CEO says they almost postponed it after COVID hit, but decided the world needs a little more happiness right now.

4.  Australia is releasing a new $1 coin called the “Donation Dollar“, and is encouraging people to give them away.  The words “Donation Dollar: Give to Help Others” are printed on one side.  They’re making 25 million of them, one for every Australian.

5.  There’s not much to do while the world is shut down.  So a couple in the U.K. bought their son a metal detector for his 10th birthday.  And the first time he used it, he found a 300-year-old sword.
