More “Good News” Stories from the Coronavirus Outbreak

Here are a few more good news stories from the outbreak . . .

1.  Have you spent time fixing up your home during the pandemic?  A guy in upstate New York was working on his house this month, and found a bunch of 100-year-old whiskey hidden in the walls.  The bottles date back to 1923.  He said he’d heard that a bootlegger used to own the house, but thought it was just a rumor.  It’s not clear how much the whiskey might be worth.

2.  Germany just announced it’s giving $662 million to Holocaust survivors who’ve struggled during the pandemic.  Around 240,000 survivors all over the world will get checks soon.  Or an average of almost $2,800 each.

3.  A first-grade teacher in Michigan recently called a kid’s grandmother during an online class, because he was having some tech issues.  And she noticed the grandmother was having trouble talking, so she called 911.  It turned out she was having a stroke, and there’s a good chance the call saved her life.
