Homegrown Recap: November 18, 2021 – 63¢ McMuffin, Nikki’s cynicism & the Festival of Trees
  • Wait? What?! Do you see this? A Winter Weather Advisory!!! Noooooooooooo.

  • Today marks the 50th anniversary of the Egg McMuffin. We heard they were selling them for 63 cents so we decided to test it out. We found out that you need to either order through the app or have the discount code from the app and you are limited to one McMuffin per app/code. Needless-to-say Homegrown had a warm breakfast this morning! Nom nom nom nom.

  • Country Calendar Spotlight: It was 16 years ago that Jaoquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon portrayed Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash in the movie Walk The Line.

  • Brent reveals that he is turning into his great uncles and grandfather who were famous for falling asleep in recliners after Thanksgiving dinner.

Food. Football….Fast asleep.

  • We’re learning that Nikki has a slightly cynical side. She isn’t believing all the hype about the product shortages. They said there was going to be a shortage of turkey’s then they are GIVING AWAY turkey’s for free at the grocery store (with a $100 purchase). Now, they are claiming that there will be a Christmas Tree shortage. Nikki thinks they are making you buy into the FOMO phenomenon (Fear Of Missing Out) just so that you’ll run out to buy more things!

  • Comb Luke’s Lyrics – Congratulations to Brenda who correctly guessed the Luke Combs’ lyric that Brent + Nikki gave out this morning and won a pair of tickets to go to the concert June 4th at Lumen Field. The lyric was “Moose Club Raffle” and Brenda pegged it correctly as When it Rains it Pours. Another chance to win tomorrow morning on Homegrown.

  • Numerica Performing Arts Center’s Festival of Trees has begun! The sold out Festival of Spirits was last night, with tree viewing all week and the gala on Saturday. For more information visit NumericaPAC.org .

Nikki Darling hosts Numerica PAC’s Executive Director, Woody Lotts for the What’s Up Wenatchee? podcast this week. Here’s a preview:

Homegrown w/Brent + Nikki can be heard weekdays from 6-10am on Country 104.7fm, online at KKRV.com or on the Audacy app.
