Country Calendar Spotlight – It was 30 years ago today that Garth Brooks released his cover of Billy Joel’s song Shameless. This led to a conversation about Nikki + Brent’s first live concerts. Nikki saw Billy Joel live when she was 14 in Billy’s hometown of Long Island at Nassau Colosseum. Brent saw Quiet Riot and White Snake and yes, he did have the 80’s hair.

Nikki called Brent out for scratching his beard too loudly on the air. Brent has let his facial hair grooming lapse, and doesn’t know if he can make it to the end of No-Shave-November.
A recent survey is showing that Americans are starting to cancel their streaming subscriptions because of rising costs. Nikki keeps adding, with the latest and 5th addition being Showtime, and has not had live television in over 10 years.

The latest episode of the What’s Up Wenatchee? podcast was posted last Friday. Nikki got to interview Brent about what it has been like for him doing the morning show by himself, and the development and launch of Homegrown w/Brent + Nikki.

Brent took his dog to the vet, and stepped on the dog scale when no one was looking. It occurs to him that he has some work to do (although we think he looks just fine), but has decided to wait until after the holidays because…well, turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie…you get the idea.

Meanwhile, Nikki has been on a scale every month like clockwork since she found out she was pregnant. Every pound, blood pressure, and oxygen level for a woman is monitored very closely. Her son is now 5 months old and last night he started holding his bottle on his own. It was a bittersweet moment of ‘oh good, now he can feed himself’ and ‘please stop growing so fast’.
Gabby Barrett and Carly Pearce will be hosting this year’s CMA Country Christmas with some of Country music’s hottest starts bringing us some holiday cheer. Brett Eldridge, Lady A, Pistol Annies, Breland and Jimmie Allen are just some of those scheduled to appear. And since Carrie Underwood is signed on as well, we really hope she sings her new holiday hit “Stretchy Pants”. CMA Country Christmas will air November 29th.
