  • Country Music Calendar Spotlight: In 2009 Taylor Swift was at #1 on the country chart with Fearless. The album won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year and Best Country Album. Swift’s Album of the Year win made her the youngest person ever at the age of 20 to receive that award. Fearless was also the first album in history to win the American Music Award, Academy of Country Music Award, Country Music Association Award, and Grammy Award for Album of The Year in the same year making it the most awarded album in the history of country music.

  • Jump Start Trivia: Which country music artist revealed the birth of their second child after keeping the pregnancy hidden? Kane Brown
    • Congratulations to Lori for getting the correct answer and winning a dozen donuts from Sure To Rise Bakery.

  • For some reason when Nikki entered the studio this morning this is what was greeting her as she opened the door:

So – Happy New Year from Luke Bryan! He usually hangs out in the corner but for some reason he was front and center this morning, looking a little worse for wear.

  • Betty White passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, days from her 100th birthday. Beloved around the world for her endearing turn as Rose Nylund in “The Golden Girls” (1985-1992) as well as roles on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and most recently “Hot in Cleveland,” White recently told People Magazine: “I’m so lucky to be in such good health and feel so good at this age. It’s amazing.” CMT will honor White Monday with The Golden Girls All-Day Marathon. The marathon will run 9 a.m. – 4 a.m. ET and include the most memorable Rose Nylund episodes.

  • POWERBALL JACKPOT IS AT $522 MILLION _ Powerball’s top prize of more than half a billion dollars remains up for grabs after the New Year’s Day drawing failed to produce an overall winner. Over the weekend the jackpot grew from from $500 million to $522 million, with a cash value of around $372 million.

… The drawing for the jackpot is tonight (Monday).

… Tuesday’s Mega Millions jackpot value is $244 million.

  • A few things to look forward to in 2022:
    • The Winter Olympics from Beijing.  And you won’t have to wait long.  They start February 4th, and run through February 20th.
    • The first images from the new James Webb telescope that launched on Christmas Day.  It should reach its final destination a million miles from Earth in about three weeks.  We might not get the first pictures back until sometime this summer though.
    • There’s a new Girl Scout cookie coming.  Cookie season starts in the next few weeks, and there’s a type this year called Adventurefuls.  They’re a brownie-style cookie with caramel-flavored cream.
