  • Interact w/Homegrown: Would you pay less for Netflix if you had to watch ads?
    • Netflix raised prices recently.  And yesterday, they announced that they lost 200,000 subscribers . . . the first time they’ve lost users in a decade.  But they also announced that they’re rolling out a CHEAPER version . . . with ads.But it may not happen for another year or two.Netflix has always resisted the idea of an ad-supported version, but they’re embracing it now as a way of bringing in new subscribers.  Plus they’re also seeing it work for competitors like Hulu and Peacock.

 

  • What are some workplace “don’ts”?
    • We all know you shouldn’t reheat fish in the microwave at work, but apparently you need to smell your white board cleaner before buying it now. The kind used in the radio station smells like…vomit.

 

  • Country Music Calendar Spotlight: In 2012 Willie Nelson helped unveil a statue honoring him in downtown Austin by singing his new song “Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die”, on a date long reserved to celebrate marijuana use. Over 2,000 people watched the unveiling by Austin Mayor Lee Leffingwell in front of the Moody Theater, where the Austin City Limits Studio is now located. Nelson, a 10-time Grammy Award winner who has sold more than 40 million copies of his 150 albums.
