Good News: Red Lobsters, Free Pies, and America’s Oldest Person
Here are a few more Good News stories making the rounds . . .
1. A Trader Joe’s worker in New Jersey bought a key lime pie for a random customer, because they both love key lime. So he came back a few days later and gave her another one he made from scratch. (Here’s the video. She gets the pie at 1:27.)
2. A Red Lobster in Asheville, North Carolina accidentally received a lobster that looked pre-cooked. Orange lobsters are rare, only around 1 in every 30 million are that color. But it’s the second orange lobster they’ve dealt with this month. Another orange one showed up at a Red Lobster in Colorado a few weeks ago.
Both lobsters had their lives spared. The first one went to an aquarium in Denver, and this one went to an aquarium in Tennessee. (Here’s a photo.)
3. America’s oldest living person just celebrated another birthday. Elizabeth Francis lives in Houston and turned 115 on Thursday. She was born in 1909, five years before the start of World War One. (She’s the fourth oldest person in the world. #1 is a woman from Spain who’s 117.)
She credits her good health to her faith, and the fact that she’s never smoked. Her advice to young people is don’t be afraid to speak up. She says, “Speak your mind. Don’t hold your tongue.”
