Good News: A Dad’s Rollercoaster, a Filtration System for Classrooms, and a Big COVID Milestone
Here are a few more good news stories making the rounds . . .
1. When the pandemic first hit and parks closed, a dad in Florida built his kids a full basketball court to play on. Then gyms closed, so he built them a gym. And now he’s finished his latest project . . . a 310-foot rollercoaster in the woods behind their house.
2. Engineers at Ford designed a cheap air filtration system schools can use when kids are back in classrooms. The base is cardboard, and you put a normal 20-inch box fan on top. They’re planning to donate 20,000 of them next month.
3. A former COVID patient in St. Louis who gave birth while she was in a coma has decided to make one of her nurses the baby’s godmother.
4. We hit a weird milestone this week, but a good one: We’ve now had more vaccinations in the U.S. than COVID-19 cases. On Monday, official stats showed 26.5 million Americans had gotten at least one dose of the vaccine. And 26.3 million had tested positive since the pandemic first started.
