Courageous Kids Climbing
April 21 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
In about two weeks, we will be having our annual spring climbing event in Wenatchee and we are getting excited at the prospect of climbing the walls at Riverfront Rock Gym, 1319 Walla Walla Ave, Wenatchee, WA 98801 on Sunday, April 21 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm! This is a FREE event for anyone with special needs, physical or developmental, including visually challenged / blind, hearing impaired / deaf, burn survivors and wounded warriors of all ages!
We can accommodate anyone who weighs under 300-pounds, the weight limit of some of our equipment. Participants will not be forced to climb, but are welcome to just come and hang out with us in an all-inclusive environment.
We have 2 courageous climbers on the roster! We still have room for 18 more courageous climbers, so please, help us spread the word.
If you have not registered for the event, an application form is attached. (También se adjunta una versión en español.) Please complete the application and return to me. We also need to know if you will be participating in the first or second hour, when applicable. Information on the challenges that your participant may face is helpful in determining what equipment we need to set up in advance of the event. Be sure to include the event name and date on the bottom of the form as we coordinate events all over the western US and in some cases make multiple visits to various communities.
Once completed, please return the completed paperwork to Courageous Kids Climbing in one of the following methods:
- Print and scan and return via email to[email protected], or,
- Take a photo and email the photo to me, or,
- Mail it to the address below, or,
- Contact us to make other arrangements.
You will also need to complete a waiver for the facility hosting the event. Here is the link for the facilities on-line waiver. (NOTE: If they do not have an on-line waiver, then a hard copy is attached and needs to be completed and returned to me.) Please forward the email acknowledging that you have completed the on-line waiver to me as well.

IMPORTANT! Anyone attending the event, regardless of whether you are climbing, needs to complete (1) the facility waiver and make sure you are included on (2) the Courageous Kids Climbing waiver at the bottom of the application. This includes parents, coaches, first responders, etc.
If you are over 16, please have a photo ID with you as well…just in case!
The event is on Sunday, April 21 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm.
NOTE: If your participants name is not on the list below, then you do not have a reservation and you need to complete and return the attached application! Please remember your reservation number to help speed up the check-in process. Here is the breakdown:

COACHES: We do have room for a few more coaches. If you have not done so already, please return your completed volunteers’ packet to me before the event. Packets for volunteers have been shared with many of you. If you do not have one, let me know and I will forward one to you and ask that you bring the completed sign-off sheet to the event with you – all we need is the completed sign-off sheet! (NOTE: The volunteer packet is not attached! You must request it!)
We can also use a couple of non-climbing volunteers to help with registration and other non-climbing related tasks.
Volunteers will be eligible for a chance to win one of two climbing helmets donated by Petzl! The drawing will be held at the end of the year. You can support multiple events to increase your chances of winning!!!
FIREFIGHTERS AND OTHER FIRST RESPONDERS: All first responders are welcome at our events. We hope that the first responders will consider this an invitation to join us. If you know any first responders, please invite them to join us!
Members of the local military, including the Guard or Reserve, are considered first responders, and are also invited to join us along with any Wounded Warriors who may want to try climbing!
