Covid Chaos: Covid Makes Its Way Up Mount Everest

Here’s a fresh round-up of Covid insanity . . .

1.  Even the tallest mountain in the world isn’t a total refuge from Covid.  The first case of Covid was just found on Mount Everest, at a base camp at 17,600 feet.  The person who tested positive was airlifted to a hospital.

2.  The Burning Man festival is thinking about making vaccines mandatory for the event this summer . . . even though the people in charge say, quote, “that challenges the concept of ‘radical inclusion.'”

3.  Someone in Miami was getting a butt injection from a doctor during a Zoom court hearing this week.

4.  Here are the updated stats on vaccinations and Covid cases as of last night . . .

Covid vaccinations in the U.S.:  134.4 million people have received at least one dose, or 40.5% of the population.  87.5 million people, or 26.4%, are fully vaccinated.

New daily cases in the U.S.:  65,057, with 876 new deaths.  That brings the total to 32.6 million cases . . . with more than 583,000 deaths . . . and more than 25.1 million who’ve now recovered.

Total cases worldwide:  144.4 million . . . with more than 3 million deaths . . . and more than 122.6 million people who’ve beaten the virus globally.
