Covid Chaos: Bubble Tea Is the Newest Covid Shortage

Here’s a fresh round-up of Covid insanity . . .

1.  The newest Covid shortage is . . . bubble tea.  There’s a shortage of the boba balls, and ALSO a shortage of the tapioca starch that’s used to make them.  One importer says, quote, “In the next week or so, tapioca will be a luxury.”

2.  A guy bought a full-body “green man” suit so when he walked behind his fiancée’s Zoom calls, he’d disappear into her green screen virtual background.  But a video shows it didn’t really work . . . mostly because you can still see his FACE.

3.  The University of Alabama’s spring football game had 47,218 fans . . . which is the biggest sports crowd in the U.S. since the pandemic started.  That was around 50% capacity for the football stadium.

4.  A woman at a grocery store in Ohio punched an employee and bit another customer when someone asked her to put on a mask.

5.  Here are the updated stats on vaccinations and Covid cases as of last night . . .

Covid vaccinations in the U.S.:  131.2 million people have received at least one dose, or 39.5% of the population.  84.2 million people, or 25.4%, are fully vaccinated.

New daily cases in the U.S.:  43,174, with 310 new deaths.  That brings the total to 32.4 million cases . . . with more than 581,000 deaths . . . and more than 24.9 million who’ve now recovered.

Total cases worldwide:  142 million . . . with more than 3 million deaths . . . and more than 120.5 million people who’ve beaten the virus globally.
