Are you Prepared for your North Central WA Winter?

As a Washington State born and raised gal,

Washington State Winters can be pretty humbling!

Now I am highly aware that we aren’t like some states or different parts of the world that just get obliterated with snow, but WA State can hang, hear me out..

There are some people who know how to Tokyo Drift with the pros in snow, and there are others who are overly cautious. Arguments for both sides of the aisle, but being prepared in general is a happy medium that is standard. Ok, enough talking, let’s get to what we should have on hand for our Washington State Winter.

Tips and Tricks for Navigating the Winter Roads:

  • Avoid excessive brake use. Doing so makes you slide, use the Heal to Toe Method.
  • Keep a full tank of gas in your vehicle in case of power outages, traffic, etc.
  • How’s your Tread? Have the appropriate tread, tires, studs, chains ahead of time. Especially if you plan on heading over the passes.
  • Stopped? Stuck? Keep your dome light on (no it’s not illegal in this case) so crews can easily find you, along with your high beams and hazard lights. Stay in your Vehicle.
  • Please inform someone of your ETA. and the route you will be on.
  • Don’t drive unless it’s needed.
