Congratulations Lia! Nominated once again as the Country Music Association Broadcaster of the Year. Already a two-time winner. We're proud you're on our team!

Don't get between Lia and her Seattle Mariners

Way back in the late 60's, in a small little Kentucky town, I came screaming into this world. My mom, a Southern Belle housewife, and my dad, a farmer, bar owner, janitor, banjo picker, had finally had enough kids. I was the last of four.

I grew up in an even smaller town in Kentucky, with not much to do there but plug my ears while my dad tried to pick his banjo and run through the sprinklers on a hot summer's day.

I was Daddy's Little Girl. Even though I hated that banjo, I loved my dad. The hardest thing I ever went through in my life was the death of my dad in 1983, when I was only fifteen. Too much for a young girl to take!

I left Kentucky, my family, my friends behind and moved hundreds of miles cross-country to be with my oldest sister, Connie (my role model, best friend and confidante), and her husband. I finished school and, purely by accident, I got into Country radio. Now it's all about enjoying the Great Northwest and talking to you guys every night.

We all work very hard each night to put together something special. Fortunately, I work with a great team that helps pull it together. Now, let's hope for a great 2009 season at Safeco Field!
