Gronk Interrupted Sean Spicer at the Patriots’ White House Visit

The New England Patriots visited the White House yesterday to celebrate their Super Bowl win, but TOM BRADY was a no-show.  However, it didn’t have anything to do with politics or a falling out with his BFF President Trump.

Brady released a statement thanking Trump for supporting the team, and said, quote, “In light of some recent developments, I am unable to attend [the] ceremony, as I’m attending to some personal family matters.”

He didn’t elaborate . . . but the “Boston Herald” says he was probably opting to spend time with his mom, who’s in town from California.  As you may have heard, she’s fighting cancer.

Interestingly, Brady also didn’t make the Patriots’ last visit to the White House two years ago in 2015, and that time he also cited family commitments.  He did show up after all three Super Bowl wins during the George W. Bush years.

It sure seems like the media really is out to get Trump on ANYTHING they can. The New York Times tweeted a photo that compared the turnout of this year’s Patriots visit to the one Obama hosted in 2015 . . . but that turned out to be FAKE NEWS, and the Patriots’ Twitter called them out on it.

(NYT’s sports editor Jason Stallman passed this statement along after receiving criticism for the tweet: “Bad Tweet by me. Terrible Tweet. I wish I could say it’s complicated, but no, this one is pretty straightforward: I’m an idiot. It was my idea, it was my execution, it was my blunder. I made a decision in about four minutes that clearly warranted much more time. Once we learned more we tried to fix everything as much as possible as swiftly as possible and as transparently as possible. Of course, at that point the damage was done. I just needed to own it.”)

Meathead tight end ROB GRONKOWSKI DID show up, and he even crashed a press conference with Sean Spicer.  He stepped out from behind the stage, and asked if Spicer needed any help.  Spicey laughed and said, “that was cool.”

It was probably staged to some degree, not that it matters.

(Here’s video of Gronk’s stunt at the press conference.  And a longer one.  And here’s Trump welcoming the Patriots.  He didn’t mention Brady, and some people think that was a slight, but who knows?  Although he DID congratulate Danny Amendola, who wasn’t there either.)
